ChiefBoard understands your question better10/10/2026ChiefBoard now finds the study that really fits your question much more often, even when you phrase it in your own words. And you can see what an answer is based on.
When an answer in the chat draws on a study, it appears below the answer with a link. One click opens it in a new tab and the chat stays open.
Whether you write "my people keep quitting" or "turnover", ChiefBoard finds the same studies. Every source now also knows the words business owners use to describe their situation.
If you ask "And what does that mean for us in practice?" after an answer, ChiefBoard carries over the topic of your previous question instead of answering without context.
ChiefBoard now knows what to check before making a recommendation in these areas, what to compare options on and which typical mistakes to point out.
New studies and reports on the questions that come up most often: new customers and marketing, weak performance and conflict in the team, tight cash flow and late-paying customers, investments in operations, inventory and quality, controlling, advisory boards, buying a company and your own time as the boss. In total there are now around 380.
For a thank-you, a short request or a pure wording question, ChiefBoard no longer pulls in studies. And where a source does not fit your question, ChiefBoard leaves it out.

More research behind every answer10/09/2026The knowledge base has grown from four to eight areas. ChiefBoard now backs up answers on finance, hiring, operations and on how to decide well in the first place with vetted studies, around 300 in total.
Studies and reports on bank loans, equity, leasing, factoring, cash flow, investment appraisal and price increases.
What really works when selecting candidates, how onboarding succeeds, why people leave, how compensation works and what to expect when handing over a business.
Field studies on AI in daily work, digitization in small and mid-sized businesses, supply chains and dependence on single suppliers, causes of insolvency, resilience and cyberattacks.
The research on cognitive biases, forecasts, gut feeling versus fixed rules, decisions in teams and learning from decisions. ChiefBoard uses it when it tests your assumptions.
Questions that included "AI" did not find their studies before, because the search skipped such short words. Now they do.

The ledger as a tool10/08/2026The ledger is no longer a board of cards but a tool. You make decisions there with calculated options, and it tells you what needs attention right now.
ChiefBoard now answers with Claude Opus 5.5 instead of Claude Sonnet 4.6. It thinks before every answer, calculates more carefully and less often cites numbers or sources it cannot back up. An answer can take a few seconds longer as a result.
The seventh template writes messages to contacts: after a meeting, to someone you do not know yet, a request for an introduction including text to forward, and reviving an old contact. Each comes with a short version for LinkedIn and a follow-up message. Every message lands as its own conversation in your chat list, for example "Networking: Anna Berger", and can be refined there.
In the file of a decision, ChiefBoard drafts at the push of a button the letter to your customers, a guide for the call with the most important ones and the order of who learns what and when. You adjust the text, copy it into your email program and can keep the draft as a note on the decision.
ChiefBoard now recognizes by itself whether an answer is about a decision. Only then do "Record decision" and "As PDF" appear below it. For a term explanation or a thank-you, it stays quiet.
The questions under "Keep digging" now read the way you would ask them yourself. One click sends them, with no extra step.
An answer as a PDF now looks like a memo for management or a board: your question as the title, the key point in a box, clean headings and lists, page numbers and "Confidential" in the header.
If you scroll far up in the chat, a button above the input field takes you straight back to the latest answer.
For sales, customers, expansion and strategy, ChiefBoard now keeps a vetted knowledge base: studies, meta-analyses and reports, each with a source and link. For every question in these areas the AI receives the matching entries and cites them in the answer. Under the recommendation of a calculation you find the sources to read, and they stay in the background of the file.
Three new areas in the ledger, each with its own playbook: what ChiefBoard checks, what it compares options on and which early indicators belong in the review. Every calculated option now comes with an early indicator that feeds into the expected result. Plus two new calculators: sales plan (from the revenue target backwards to deals, proposals, contacts and sales reps, with ramp-up) and customer value (what a customer brings over the relationship and when winning them pays off).
You ask the question, ChiefBoard works through two to four options with cost, impact and risk, and recommends one. You choose the path, and expected result, assumptions and review date are already filled in. The calculation costs one message, recording it costs nothing. If you have already decided, you record it without a calculation.
At the top of the ledger you see what needs doing: reviews that are due, overdue actions, assumptions nobody has checked for three months and decisions without a review date. Every row has a button that takes care of it.
One click sends your running decisions, including their assumptions, to the chat. ChiefBoard tells you which ones contradict each other and which assumptions no longer fit your business.
In the chat and in scenarios, ChiefBoard now also receives the assumptions and the reversal signal for every decision. Below the input field you can see how many decisions from the ledger are included. After recording, a button leads straight to the file.
Recording a decision is now a conversation in five steps: what is it about, what did you decide (with the options to choose from), how will you recognize success, what are you assuming, first steps. The same path in the chat, in the ledger and in scenarios, prefilled from the conversation. When editing, you jump straight to the step you want to change and save from there.
The public pages scroll more smoothly, and headings and sections come into view as you read. If you have "Reduce motion" set in your operating system, you see everything as before, without motion.
The blue tile with the C is now everywhere: in the header, as the browser icon, as the app icon on your phone, in the preview image of shared links and in the PDF.
The scenarios page is now the same path as "New decision": question, calculated options, choose a path, record. No separate result that gets left lying around anymore.
Below the track record you find the latest lessons from your reviews, with a jump to the decision. The calendar now shows only reviews that are still pending, with the link to the review.
Question, chosen path, expectation, options, assumptions, reversal signal, actions, reviews and notes one below the other, like a document. Editing has its own button. From the overview, a click on a card opens its file directly.
When recording from the chat, the text field of an assumption was barely visible. It now takes the full width.

Redesigned10/06/2026The public pages have been redesigned: calmer, set larger and showing the product itself instead of mocked-up examples. If your device is set to dark, you now see them in dark too.
At the top is a stack of real app windows: the answer in the chat, the form for recording and the review afterwards. Below it the path of a decision in four steps, each with a picture from the app, using sample data.
Pricing, About, Contact, Data and security, Privacy and Terms follow your device setting. The app after login and the chat stay light for now.
ChiefBoard now uses Geist. Headings are set the same way on all public pages, the navigation shows where you are, and the privacy policy and terms have the same header as the rest.
Steps that ChiefBoard numbers in an answer show their numbers again.

From decision to outcome10/06/2026A decision is now more than an entry. It has a question, options, an expected result and a day on which you check whether it came true. In between are the actions, afterwards the review.
Below every answer, ChiefBoard prefills the form from the conversation: the question, the chosen path, the options including doing nothing, the expected result, assumptions and next steps. You check, change and save. This costs no message.
If the expected result includes a time frame, for example in six months, ChiefBoard suggests the review for exactly then. Without a question, path, expected result and date, nothing is saved, because without them you cannot check later whether it was right.
On the review day you get an email with a link straight into the form. On the left is what you expected and assumed, on the right four questions: what happened, how it turned out, a lesson and whether you keep, adjust or reverse.
For every decision you record who does what by when, and tick it off. The board now has In progress, Review due and Reversed. Reviews that become due move into their column on their own.
Instead of one, you record five decisions without a subscription, with all reviews. Enough to see whether the track record of your own decisions is worth anything to you.
0.04.01
Double-checked10/06/2026ChiefBoard was checked from front to back for a whole night. What turned up has been fixed, mostly in places where something went wrong without you noticing.
If sending in the chat fails, your attachments stay put. If you are not allowed to delete a decision of a colleague, it says so instead of seeming to vanish.
The answer stays in its own conversation instead of briefly showing up in the one you just opened, and so do its follow-up questions. A conversation that is still loading accepts a new question only afterwards. Deleting asks first, on the phone too.
If you answer a clarifying question with just "yes", the question is now sent along. The AI then knows what the yes refers to.
A decision that was already too early to judge once can be pushed back by three months again at the next review. Before, it stayed due permanently.
An incomplete analysis shows a sparser page instead of an error. In the templates, empty fields no longer go to the AI as an empty number, and a result no longer lands under the wrong tab.
If another account signs in on the same computer, it does not see your notepad. If you only sign out and back in, you keep your notes.
The pricing table lists Solo, the terms describe monthly billing, and the privacy policy covers advisor access, the weekly brief and the support chat. Uploaded files are not stored, and the text now says so.

Calculated, sourced, tallied10/05/2026Numbers are now calculated instead of estimated, the first answer without an account asks questions instead of staying general, every decision gets a review with a verdict, there is a two-page briefing for your bank, board or partners, your accountant can read along, and on Mondays your week arrives at a glance. Over time this becomes your track record: how often you were right.
Every Monday morning the top of your overview shows what is due this week, which decisions are open, what was decided most recently and what your advisor has noted. Below it, ChiefBoard writes in a few sentences what matters this week, based only on these facts and with no invented numbers. Once email sending starts, the same overview also arrives by email, with one-click unsubscribe. The assessment is included in every paid plan and in the trial.
Under Team and advisor, you invite one person per company who reads along, for example your accountant or someone from your advisory board. They see the profile and the ledger and write notes directly on your decisions. They cannot change anything, they do not see your chats, and it is free for them. Included in every paid plan, without taking up a team seat.
In the ledger, one click on Briefing creates two pages as a PDF: your company, the decisions of the last three, six or twelve months, what became of them and what is still open. The order depends on the audience. It contains only what you recorded in ChiefBoard, and it costs no message.
At the review you record what happened and judge it in one word: better than expected, as expected, worse, or too early to tell. At the top of the ledger you then see how your decisions turn out, and as a rate once five have been judged. If you choose "too early to tell", the decision comes back in three months.
When saving a decision you can record how you will know whether it was right. At the review it appears next to what happened, and the reminder asks exactly that.
Before, the AI only saw what was decided, never what came of it. Now it knows the expectation, the outcome and your verdict, and tells you when a similar decision went worse than expected before.
For a price increase, break-even, the full cost of a hire, cash runway and a loan payment, ChiefBoard now uses vetted calculators instead of doing it in its head. The calculation appears in the answer so you can check the number, and every assumption is named. If a number is missing, ChiefBoard asks for it instead of making one up.
On the home page, next to the description, there are three fields that take two seconds to click. That way the first answer is about your company even if you do not want to type a sentence. If you create an account afterwards, the details are already in your company profile.
If ChiefBoard knows too little without an account, it now asks at most three short questions instead of answering in general terms or inventing an example company. If you have described your situation, you still get an answer right away.
When you save an answer as a decision, ChiefBoard suggests three months as the follow-up, with one click also one or six months. Without a date, a decision stays a note nobody opens again.
Once email sending starts, a short email arrives on the follow-up day with exactly one question: did it turn out the way you thought? What became of it, you record in the ledger.
The Data and security page now explains why no model is trained on your content: we do not do it, and Anthropic is barred from it by its terms of use. With the wording and the link to it, instead of a self-declaration.
If you upload documents with names of employees or customers, you need a data processing agreement with us. It is now available on every plan at no extra cost, requested with one click on the Data and security page.

Getting found09/26/2026Much of this is not visible on the page, but it decides whether Google and AI assistants like ChatGPT find ChiefBoard and describe it correctly. Visibly new are a list of questions on the pricing page and a page that explains in plain language where your data is stored.
Where account, conversations and files are stored, who can read them, how long they are kept and how you delete everything. In plain language, with a table of which service does what. The privacy policy remains the legally complete text alongside it.
An honest comparison of the two, with a table and a section on when ChatGPT is the better choice. Because everyone asks the question anyway, we would rather answer it ourselves and completely.
Ten questions on price, cancellation, trial, message limit, team and refunds, directly below the plans. The answers take their numbers from the real plan data and therefore cannot go stale.
The product summary that ChatGPT and similar services read still listed the old yearly prices and did not know the Solo plan. It is now generated from the real plan data on every deploy.

A visible start09/25/2026When you send a question on the home page, you now see right away that ChiefBoard is getting going. Before, only a small spinner turned in the send button while access was set up and the conversation opened in the background.
After sending, the question appears instantly as a message, just like in the chat. You can see in black and white that it arrived.
Below it, a card runs along showing that the conversation is being prepared, with a running seconds count. If it takes longer, it says that the first call wakes up the server.

A new voice09/22/2026ChiefBoard now answers like an experienced executive working for you: the recommendation first, then the reasons, calm and without filler. Numbers now come only from verified sources.
The recommendation comes first, followed by the reasons, the risks and the next steps. Technical terms are briefly explained so that you can make the next similar decision yourself.
Numbers now come only from your input, your profile, your files or a web search. Everything else is marked as an assumption.

Faster and safer09/14/2026Two small improvements: if you try ChiefBoard without an account, you now get your answer faster, and new passwords have to be a little longer.
The free answers without an account are now shorter and to the point: key message, conclusion and follow-up questions. That makes them noticeably faster and easier to read on a phone. The detailed analysis with all sections comes with an account.
New passwords now need at least 8 characters instead of 6. Existing passwords remain valid.

No account needed, and plans09/14/2026You can now try ChiefBoard right away, without an account: just ask a question like in a chat. There are also lower-priced plans with a new entry point for solo founders, monthly billing, a support chat right in the app, a small notepad and an interface built for the phone throughout.
Ask a question right away on trychiefboard.com; the first 3 answers are free and need no sign-up. The conversation is kept if you create an account afterwards.
For solo founders: unlimited decisions in the ledger and 500 messages per month.
Business and Ultra got cheaper, and you can now pay monthly instead of only yearly. The yearly plan is about 15% cheaper.
14 days to try it out in peace. If it does not fit, you get your money back.
A help window at the bottom of the app: write us your question directly, and the answer appears in the same window.
A small pad in the bottom corner with two tabs, one for notes and one for to-dos to tick off. Always at hand while you work.
The whole site now runs cleanly on the phone: no more unwanted zooming when typing, and the home page and pricing have their own views tailored to the phone.

Company profile09/12/2026ChiefBoard now gets to know your company by itself. Instead of typing everything in, it reads your website on request, researches the web and presents every detail with its source for you to confirm. There is also feedback on every answer, full control over your data and noticeably better protection in the background.
Under company profile, ChiefBoard reads your own website and searches the web for public information: business structure, founding year, locations, services, competitors and recent developments.
A detail is only kept if its link actually appeared in the search results or on your website. Invented sources drop out before you see them.
If several independent sources agree, "confirmed multiple times" appears next to it. If they contradict each other or your own input, you see all values side by side and decide yourself.
What is found lands as a suggestion. Only what you accept flows into answers and scenarios, and what you entered yourself always takes priority.
With Business, up to 3 people work on one company, with Ultra up to 10, each with their own login. Ledger, company profile and scenarios are shared, your chats with ChiefBoard stay private. Invitations go out by link that works only for the invited email address.
Thumbs up or down below every answer, with reasons such as "facts wrong" or "too general". ChiefBoard takes your latest feedback into account in the next answers.
A page of its own where you can download everything, delete company details that were found, or delete your account with a seven-day grace period.
Requests are throttled in case of abuse, files are checked by their actual content and error messages no longer reveal internal details.
Logo at the far left, your account at the far right: more room for the navigation.
Windows reports CSV files as an Excel type, which is why they were skipped before. Now they are read, and attachments may be up to 8 MB.

New design09/11/2026One app instead of many pages: ChiefBoard has a shared navigation, switches between areas without reloading and feels much calmer and faster. The decision ledger is now at the center.
Overview, chat, board, scenarios and templates in one bar. The highlight glides to the new area when you switch.
Areas open instantly with smooth transitions, instead of rebuilding the whole page every time.
Open decisions, reviews that are due and your message allowance at a glance, with the decisions as cards below.
A question field at the top of the overview, a button of its own in the header and Ctrl K (⌘K on a Mac) from anywhere.
A bug had cut off the conclusion at the end of some answers. It is shown in full again.
The templates now send your sign-in along and therefore also run reliably when message limits are active.

PlansJune 2026ChiefBoard gets plans. The entry level stays free, and if you need more, you switch to Business or Ultra, billed through Stripe.
Three plans with clear limits for messages and decisions in the ledger, billed yearly.
A counter shows how many messages are left in the current month and when the allowance refills.
In settings you see your plan and get to the Stripe customer portal with one click for invoices and payment details.
While ChiefBoard prepares an answer, an animation shows what it is working on.
The upgrade button disappears as soon as you have a paid plan.

Helps with every section of an investor deck, from the problem to the business model to financial planning.
From the job ad to the interview questions to the offer to candidates.

Three new templates for channels and campaigns, cash flow and key figures, and processes in the team.
For questions about markets, competitors or current developments, ChiefBoard researches the web and names its sources.
